Working with St Lawrence University, we of designed and implemented a visually branded campus wayfinding system in and around the campus along with off site locations.
Our work began by evaluating their campus and designing a system of sign types to communicate a hierarchy of information for exterior signs. Our goal was to understand and create a strong and simple user experience, through creating a family of on brand sign types.
Phase 1 focused on the outer perimeter of campus, students and parents visiting, buses coming to athletic events, and service vehicles. Phase 2 focused on the inner campus, students finding classrooms and Phase 3 was off campus signage. Following their design standards, we are used SLU colors and font families. As we built the system, we explored at a variety of ways to build a coherent family of signs.
The solutions were built with having visibility and legibility from a distance, use of colors and materials. Our work included fabrication specification and guidance in the bid package.
Our work encompassed project management, communicating with the vendor, ensuring quality in fabricating and installation. The system was built out over a few years.
WE DESIGN BRANDED ENVIRONMENTS, WAYFINDING & EXHIBIT DESIGN
We build three-dimensional environmental solutions that tells a story, creates wayfinding, builds a mood, embodies a spirit and crafts a distinct branded environment. Our work includes design, production and the fabrication of knowing how and what materials to use.
